Learn more about me and help contribute to my education journey.

Hi! I'm Sophea! Pronounced in So-FEE-ah in English & SO-pe-uh in Khmer.

My journey of resilience from deported refugee to returning permanent resident has empowered me to continue my education and contribute to the healing of our Southeast Asian community.

I just received my Bachelor of Science in Family Social Science from the University of Minnesota since my return and am continuing my studies at UCLA for a Master in Social Welfare. I could really use some help and support, so I am accepting bookings for guest speaking at your special event, class, or workplace.

Use the form below to inquire more. I appreciate your support!

THANK YOU!

Please contact me to discuss further about Bookings!

Southeast Asian Deportation Relief Act (SEADRA) - 2023

"SEARAC and SEAFN are proud to announce the reintroduction of the Southeast Asian Deportation Relief Act (SEADRA) in the US House of Representatives, sponsored by Reps. Judy Chu (CA-28), Pramila Jayapal (WA-7), Zoe Lofgren (CA-18), and Ayanna Pressley (MA-7). SEADRA is historic federal legislation that would free Southeast Asian American (SEAA) refugee and immigrant families from the continuous fear and trauma of being torn apart from their loved ones and communities."

Deported from U.S., Cambodians fight immigration policy - PBS NewsHour

"Every year, the U.S. deports thousands of immigrants who are convicted of crimes after they serve their prison terms -- including green card holders and those granted asylum. The policy dates back to the Clinton and Bush administrations as part of their efforts to step up national security. NewsHour Weekend Special Correspondent Kira Kay went to Cambodia to meet a community of deportees fighting to change this policy."
